How Do I Wear an Anti-Chafing Band?

Posted by Jack Miller on 19th Aug 2021

No matter the weather, chafing can be an uncomfortable and irritating problem. Whether this is simply during a walk in the park or after a long day at work, it can often feel like there is no let-up. But there is a solution: anti-chafing bands. Many chafing sufferers actually find that bands work better than creams and gels as they prevent chafing before it even occurs. So, here at No More Chafe, we have compiled this blog post to tell you all about anti-chafing bands and how to wear them. In next to no time, you'll be able to benefit from the relief and comfort they provide.

What are anti-chafing bands?

Before we offer some tips on how to wear anti-chafing bands, you probably want to know how they work first. They come in pairs – one for each thigh – and are designed to stop your thighs from rubbing together, which usually causes irritation. They are traditionally made out of materials such as nylon or spandex so that they feel like nothing more than a pair of tights. This makes them easy to slip into or out of at the beginning or end of a long day.

Many people worry that the bands will fall down or they'll have to keep pulling them up, but this isn't the case. Our anti-chafe bands are made with two strips of silicone, which grip to your skin. One strip runs around the top of the band and the other around the bottom. Although this doesn’t sound like much, this simple design addition is very effective.

What can I wear my anti-chafing bands with?

Anti-chafing bands are surprisingly easy to pair with any outfit. They work perfectly well under long, flowy dresses, or cute bouncy skirts. Thanks to their tailored design, you don’t have to worry about them being on show. You can wear any kind of clothing you want and don't have to choose lightweight, breathable clothing if you are particularly susceptible to thigh chafing.

Thigh chafing bands also fit comfortably under tighter items of clothing, such as your favourite pair of bicycle shorts or your trusty pair of jeans. Contrary to popular opinion, anti-chafe bands will not give you away by leaving a visible ring on show underneath your clothing. The bands are designed to be quite thin and lightweight for this very reason. However, don't think that this means they are too flimsy and won't work – they’re deceptively sturdy.
